The Vergers were born on July 14, 2007 in a gravel floor garage on the outskirts of Denver, Colorado. Consisting of Trip Wilkes (vocals), Brad M. (guitars), Dave Bakulski (bass), and Gary Slaughter (keyboards), the band's music became heavily influenced by the dark shadows, eerie echoes, and oppressive heat of the garage in which they collaborated, as well as by their shared musical interests and diverse musical backgrounds. Ari Rubinstein later joined The Vergers on drums, adding his own distinctive percussive talent to the band’s musical vision, and encapsulating a powerful quintet.

Still relatively young to the burgeoning Denver music scene, The Vergers have performed at such prestigious Denver venues as Bender’s Tavern, the Larimer Lounge, the Walnut Room, the Cricket on the Hill, the hi-dive, the Lions Liar, Herman’s Hideaway, Cafe Cero, the Iliff Park Saloon, and the Toad Tavern. Denver radio stations KTCL (93.3 FM), KQMT (99.5 FM) and 101.5 FM have all featured The Vergers on their local music shows.

With moods shifting from dark, to lysergic, to hopeful, The Vergers create an atmosphere of beauty, velocity, angst, and affection. Poised to make huge strides in 2009, the Vergers will surely get your attention.
